🎯 The Role
We are seeking an experienced Packaging Manager to lead packaging strategy, development, and lifecycle management across our product portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee packaging design, material selection, supplier collaboration, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives while working closely with product development, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, and quality teams.
This role is ideal for professionals with expertise in packaging engineering, packaging development, product commercialization, supply chain management, sustainability, and manufacturing operations.
🚀 What You'll Do
- Develop and execute packaging strategies aligned with product, operational, and sustainability objectives
- Lead the design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions
- Evaluate packaging materials, structural designs, labeling, and product protection requirements
- Collaborate with product development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, logistics, and marketing teams
- Manage packaging suppliers, manufacturers, and external design partners to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance
- Optimize packaging costs while maintaining product quality, functionality, and customer experience
- Ensure packaging complies with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, transportation regulations, and customer specifications
- Conduct packaging performance testing, transit validation, shelf-life assessments, and quality evaluations
- Drive sustainable packaging initiatives, waste reduction programs, recyclable materials adoption, and environmental compliance
- Monitor packaging KPIs including cost, quality, production efficiency, sustainability metrics, and supplier performance
- Prepare packaging specifications, technical documentation, project reports, and executive presentations
- Drive continuous improvement through packaging innovation, automation, digital technologies, and operational excellence
✅ What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in packaging management, packaging engineering, manufacturing, product development, or supply chain operations
- Proven experience managing packaging development projects from concept through commercialization
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, logistics, sustainability, regulatory compliance, and quality systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with cross-functional product development and manufacturing teams
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while coordinating with global suppliers and production facilities
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related discipline
- Professional certifications such as CPP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, APICS CSCP, or equivalent
- Experience in FMCG, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, consumer goods, medical devices, industrial manufacturing, or e-commerce
- Knowledge of sustainable packaging, circular economy principles, packaging automation, product lifecycle management (PLM), and global packaging regulations
- Experience using enterprise platforms such as SAP, ArtiosCAD, Esko Suite, SolidWorks, Microsoft Power BI, or similar enterprise technologies
- Experience managing regional or global packaging programs
- Fluency in English is required
