About the role
Doryssa Hotels & Resorts is a well-established Greek hospitality group with a strong presence in Samos and a growing presence in the wider hospitality and tourism sector.
Building on our experience in hospitality, operations and property management, we are now taking a new strategic step by expanding into Real Estate Development & Investments.
Our ambition is to identify and acquire attractive real estate opportunities, create value through development, renovation and repositioning, and selectively bring properties to the market through sale, leasing or long-term operation.
We are looking for the person who will help us build this new activity from the ground up.
The Role
As our Real Estate Development & Investment Manager, you will have a key role in establishing and leading Doryssa's Hotels & Resorts new real estate development activity.
You will manage projects end-to-end, from identifying and evaluating potential opportunities through acquisition, development, renovation and commercialization.
You will work closely with property owners, real estate agents, lawyers, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, authorities and other external partners, acting as the central point of coordination throughout each project.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both building a business function and delivering projects.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential real estate investment and development opportunities.
- Support the evaluation and acquisition of properties, including initial feasibility and due diligence coordination.
- Coordinate legal, technical, commercial and regulatory due diligence with the relevant external advisors.
- Manage the development and renovation process from initial concept through completion.
- Coordinate architects, civil engineers, consultants, contractors, lawyers, real estate agents and other external partners.
- Coordinate permitting, licensing, planning and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor construction and renovation progress through regular site visits and project reviews.
- Identify risks, delays and cost deviations and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Support property valuation, business planning and investment decision-making.
- Coordinate the commercialization of completed assets through sale, leasing or other appropriate strategies.
- Build and manage a trusted network of external partners and service providers.
- Establish the processes, standards and partner network required to develop the new in-house real estate function.
- Provide regular project and investment updates to senior management.
Requirements
We are looking for a commercially minded professional with strong experience in real estate development, construction/project management, property investment or a related field.
You should be comfortable moving between strategic discussions and practical project execution.
Ideally, you will bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience in real estate development, construction/project management, property investment or a related field.
- Proven experience managing real estate projects from concept through completion.
- Strong understanding of the Greek real estate and development environment.
- Experience coordinating architects, engineers, lawyers, contractors and other external consultants.
- Good understanding of permitting, licensing and regulatory processes.
- Strong budgeting, negotiation and project management skills.
- Commercial and investment-oriented thinking.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Willingness to travel for property assessments and on-site project supervision.
- Excellent command of Greek and English.
A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate, Construction Management, Business, Finance or a related field will be considered an advantage.
Beyond technical experience, we are looking for someone who is
- Entrepreneurial and comfortable building something from the ground up.
- Highly organised and able to take ownership.
- Commercially minded and comfortable evaluating opportunities.
- Strong at negotiation and relationship management.
- Practical, solution-oriented and hands-on.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with senior management.
- Able to connect the dots between investment, development, construction and commercial outcomes.
