About SlashData

SlashData is an analyst firm offering best-in-class research on how AI is reshaping software development for the world's top technology companies. We help product, platform, and engineering leaders understand how software development is changing in the AI era. For over 20 years, we have helped many of the world’s leading technology companies, such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta, understand developers, developer ecosystems, and the tools and workflows shaping the future of software.

Our ambition is to become the industry-standard for the software development economy – the reference point that product, platform, and engineering leaders rely on to make decisions about developers, AI, and the future of software.

Culture is something we've invested in over the last 10 years, and we recently created a vision of the culture we want to build - a culture where you can do your best work ever. This is a culture where you're challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone to keep learning and growing. Where your work has real meaning and impact. Where you have a genuine seat at driving the future of the company. Where you're surrounded by people who challenge you candidly, help you grow, and have your back.

Where it's safe to take risks, ask for help, and say what you really think. Where you're genuinely appreciated, heard, and recognised. A culture where, years later, as you look back on your life, you reflect on it as the place where you did your best work ever.

The Role

You love working with people and are an HR Generalist, based in Europe with 3-5 years of HR experience to lead our daily People Operations. You also have a foot in the business side, with experience in how culture impacts business decisions and vice versa.

In this role, you will own day-to-day People Operations in a remote company culture, and help build the workplace where we can do the best work of our lives. As a small team of 20 people, you will handle everything from hiring, learning & development to compliance to building people systems like improving hiring/unhiring processes, recognition systems, goal-setting, learning & development systems and how we connect and engage as a remote team, as well as planning and executing our occasional in-person team events.

You will be reporting to Maria, our Finance and Administration Lead for operations & compliance, with a dotted line to Andreas, our CEO, on culture systems. More importantly, your role serves both the people and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Culture Systems: Improving hiring / unhiring processes, recognition systems, goal-setting, values & behaviour communication, personal development plans, learning & development systems and how we connect and engage as a remote team, as well as planning and executing our occasional in-person team events.
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Oversee JD creation, manage the ATS, screen candidates, and manage the careers page as well as our LinkedIn and Glassdoor presence.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Improve our digital onboarding experience that introduces new hires to our people, workflow, tools, and culture.
  • People Operations & Admin: Manage digital employee files, track time off, manage our benefits, manage online tools used by the team, as well as EoR relationships.
  • Policy & Compliance: Keep employee files safe. Maintain and update our policies and processes to ensure the company’s legal compliance.
  • Performance Support: Facilitate our remote performance check-ins and feedback loops.
  • Learning & Development: Define curriculum, source training, run sessions, track completion, and measure impact - including a company-wide biweekly program on both hard and soft skills.
  • Trip & Event Organisation: Help plan, coordinate, and run our occasional in-person team events and meetings.
  • HR Analytics: Provide headcount reporting, attrition tracking, and compensation benchmarking to the leadership team.
  • Internal Comms: Share company and People Operations updates as well as team news.
  • Measure culture every 6 months to inform our culture strategy.

Essential

  • 3 to 5 years of HR experience in medium-sized companies (20-100 people), ideally within a remote environment.
  • You love working with people, understanding their unique perspectives and adapting to people from varying cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Good understanding of general HR policies and labour laws in Greece and/or the UK.
  • Have worked with business stakeholders and understand how HR initiatives affect the business, and vice versa.
  • Highly organised self-starter who is an early AI adopter.
  • Experience with HR software (HRIS) and Google Workspace. We use Factorial.
  • Comfortable working as part of a distributed team, with mutual flexibility around working hours.
  • Strong logistical and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail and budget management.
  • Strong communication skills and absolute trustworthiness with the ability to handle sensitive, confidential data.
  • You are a self-improver and like to take pride in your work.

Bonus points for

  • Familiarity with implementing business systems such as EOS, Scaling Up, Metrononics, or Bloom Growth
  • Professional HR certification (like SHRM-CP or CIPD).
  • Experience with talent sourcing and digital hiring tools like Workable
  • EoR platform experience, e.g. Deel.

You will be successful in the first 3 months if:

  • You have built a relationship with every single team member
  • You have advised the company successfully on compliance matters
  • Time-off, onboarding and offboarding run as documented processes that someone else could follow without you in the room
  • You have taken at least one open role from brief to offer using a scorecard-based process you designed or improved
  • The L&D curriculum is planned for the next six months, and the first two sessions have run
  • You have presented a 12-month people & culture roadmap to the leadership team with three named priorities and what you need to deliver them
