Job Summary
Looking for an experienced Site Telecom Engineer to manage the planning, installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom & Physical Security systems at Oil & Gas facilities. The successful candidate will lead site activities, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, ensure compliance with HSE requirements, and deliver projects safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and supervise telecom site activities in accordance with project schedules and specifications.
- Lead the installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of telecom systems.
- Manage daily site operations, technical teams, subcontractors, and work allocation.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and project management for site execution.
- Review engineering drawings, method statements, ITPs, and technical documentation before execution.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Ensure all site work complies with project quality standards and HSE requirements.
- Identify technical issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate material availability, tools, equipment, and manpower requirements.
- Support iFAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system handover activities.
- Ensure project documentation, as-built drawings, test records, and punch lists are completed.
- Participate in site surveys, inspections, and technical meetings.
Technical Experience
The candidate shall have hands-on experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the following systems:
- Access Control System (ACS)
- Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA)
- Microwave Radio (MW) Systems
- TETRA Base Stations (BTS)
- CCTV & Video Surveillance Systems
- Network Switches, Routers, and Telecom Cabinets
- WLAN & LAN Network
Required Skills
- Strong planning and execution capabilities.
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
- Experience leading and supervising technical teams.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret telecom drawings and technical documents.
- Familiarity with project schedules and reporting tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools.
- Strong knowledge of HSE requirements and safe work practices
- Ability to work under pressure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 6 – 8 years of relevant experience in Telecom Systems.
- Minimum 4 years of Oil & Gas project experience is mandatory.
