An international engineering consultancy company is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior ITS Engineer to join our Roads & Infrastructure (Highway Projects) team in Qatar.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), transportation infrastructure, and highway projects.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in GCC countries.
- Valid MMUP/UPDA certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience in the design, review, and implementation of ITS systems for major road and highway projects.
- Strong knowledge of international ITS standards, traffic management systems, and communication networks.
- Experience with Traffic Management Centers (TMC), CCTV systems, Variable Message Signs (VMS), Automatic Incident Detection Systems (AID), traffic signal systems, vehicle detection systems, and fiber optic communication networks.
- Excellent coordination, technical review, and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, review, and implementation of ITS solutions for large-scale highway and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review ITS studies, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and relevant authorities to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and system integration requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities for ITS systems.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, local regulations, and international best practices.
Skills
- Experience with integrated traffic management systems and smart mobility solutions.
- Knowledge of ITS communication protocols, system architecture, and network integration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination capabilities.
