Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Planning Engineer/Estimator role based in Qatar. The role involves preparing project schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates for geotechnical and marine construction projects. The Planning Engineer/Estimator will monitor progress, update plans, and support project control activities, including tracking timelines, budgets, and productivity.
Daily tasks include analyzing project data, coordinating with engineering and site teams, updating planning and reporting tools, and assisting in tender preparation and bid evaluations. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, site engineers, and commercial teams to ensure realistic plans, accurate estimates, and timely delivery of project milestones.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Planning and Production Planning, with the ability to develop and maintain realistic project schedules and resource plans.
- Demonstrated Analytical Skills and experience in Project Control, including progress measurement, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and present planning and cost information clearly.
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline; geotechnical or marine works experience is an advantage.
- Experience in estimating and tendering for civil, foundation, or marine construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work to deadlines in a site-based environment.
- Familiarity with relevant standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures in construction projects.
