Lead enterprise-wide architecture engagements and ensure strong alignment between organizational strategy, business capabilities, digital transformation initiatives, information, applications, technology, security, and investment priorities. The Senior Enterprise Architect will define current-state and target-state architectures, guide transformation roadmaps, establish architecture governance, and provide senior-level advisory support to business and technology stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Lead the development and evolution of Enterprise Architecture strategies, principles, standards, policies, reference architectures, and roadmaps.
  • Assess the current enterprise landscape and develop clear current-state, target-state, transition, and gap-analysis views across Business, Data, Application, Technology, Experience, AI, and Cybersecurity domains as applicable.
  • Translate organizational strategy and transformation objectives into architecture capabilities, initiatives, transition states, and investment priorities.
  • Develop and maintain business capability maps, value streams, enterprise-wide architecture models, dependency views, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Establish and operate architecture governance mechanisms, including architecture review boards, decision records, compliance reviews, and design assurance processes.
  • Review programs, projects, and solution proposals to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, standards, target architectures, and strategic direction.
  • Identify architectural gaps, duplication, technology risks, dependencies, obsolescence, and opportunities for consolidation, modernization, standardization, and reuse.
  • Develop and maintain architecture principles, standards, patterns, guidelines, technology standards, and reusable reference models.
  • Provide architecture leadership and advisory support to executives, business owners, digital transformation teams, technology functions, program managers, and vendors.
  • Guide and mentor solution architects and domain architects and ensure consistency across architecture deliverables.
  • Support portfolio planning, business cases, RFPs, vendor evaluations, technology selections, and transformation programs from an architecture perspective.
  • Ensure architecture deliverables are complete, traceable, understandable, and suitable for executive and technical audiences.
  • Facilitate architecture workshops, stakeholder interviews, design sessions, and executive presentations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Enterprise Architecture methods, metamodels, repositories, templates, governance practices, and quality standards.

Required Experience

  • Typically 10–15+ years of experience in technology, architecture, consulting, digital transformation, or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Architecture or a senior architecture leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale architecture assessments, target-state design, transformation roadmaps, and governance activities.
  • Experience working across multiple architecture domains, including Business, Data, Applications, Technology, Integration, Cloud, and Security.
  • Experience engaging senior executives and translating complex architecture topics into clear business-oriented recommendations.
  • Experience in large enterprises, government entities, regulated environments, or major transformation programs is highly desirable.

Required Knowledge & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture concepts, methods, governance, and operating models.
  • Advanced knowledge of TOGAF and practical application of architecture development methods.
  • Strong knowledge of ArchiMate and enterprise modeling concepts; familiarity with UML and BPMN is beneficial.
  • Ability to develop architecture assessments, heatmaps, capability models, transition architectures, roadmaps, principles, standards, and governance artifacts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, stakeholder-management, and decision-support skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic direction with practical implementation constraints, dependencies, and organizational readiness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce executive-quality architecture documents and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively in consulting environments and across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Certifications

  • TOGAF® certification (preferred).
  • ArchiMate® certification (preferred).
  • Relevant cloud, security, data, governance, or architecture certifications are an advantage.
  • PMP®, ITIL®, COBIT®, SABSA®, CDMP®, or equivalent certifications are considered beneficial depending on the engagement.

Preferred Tools & Platforms

Experience with one or more Enterprise Architecture and modeling platforms such as Bizzdesign, Orbus/iServer, ARIS, Sparx Enterprise Architect, MEGA HOPEX, or equivalent repositories and modeling tools.
