About the role
We are hiring a Director of Spa to lead Ciel Spa at SLS The Red Sea, shaping a wellness experience where indulgence, intention and unmistakable SLS flair come together. As Director of Spa, you will take full ownership of the spa operation, from exceptional guest experiences and treatment standards to team leadership, commercial performance, retail, partnerships and day-to-day operations.
You will curate experiences that allow guests to slow down, reset and reconnect, while bringing a fresh and distinctive point of view to wellness at SLS The Red Sea. Combining strong commercial acumen with a genuine passion for wellness, you will inspire your team, elevate service standards and establish Ciel Spa as an experience guests seek out, return to and remember.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall strategy and daily operation of Ciel Spa, ensuring an exceptional and highly personalized guest experience. Establish and maintain outstanding standards across treatments, guest journeys, reception, relaxation areas, retail and all spa facilities. Curate and continuously evolve the treatment menu, wellness experiences and spa programming, ensuring the offering remains relevant, distinctive and aligned with the Ciel Spa and SLS identity.
Recruit, lead, train and develop a high-performing Spa team, creating a culture of exceptional service, expertise, engagement and continuous development. Drive the commercial performance of the spa, including revenue, profitability, treatment utilization, retail sales, productivity and cost management. Develop annual budgets, forecasts and business plans while monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities to grow revenue and optimize profitability.
Implement effective revenue management, pricing, packages, promotions and upselling strategies to maximize treatment and retail opportunities. Monitor guest feedback, service quality and industry trends, using insights to continuously enhance the Ciel Spa experience. Develop strong relationships with premium spa, skincare, beauty and wellness partners, ensuring products and experiences reflect the positioning of Ciel Spa.
Partner with Sales & Marketing, Rooms, Food & Beverage and other hotel departments to develop packages, activations and experiences that integrate wellness into the wider SLS guest journey. Create compelling seasonal programming, wellness events, visiting practitioner experiences and collaborations that generate interest and guest engagement. Oversee spa inventory, purchasing, retail, product control and supplier relationships while maintaining appropriate stock and cost levels.
Ensure treatment rooms, relaxation spaces and all spa facilities are beautifully presented, maintained and operationally ready at all times. Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, health and safety, treatment protocols and guest privacy, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and applicable local regulations. Establish clear SOPs, service standards and training programs to ensure consistency throughout every stage of the guest journey.
Prepare and analyze operational and financial reports, including revenue, treatment mix, utilization, retail performance, guest satisfaction and team productivity. Remain informed of emerging luxury spa, beauty and wellness trends, introducing thoughtful new concepts and experiences that keep Ciel Spa fresh and relevant.
Degree or diploma in Spa Management, Hospitality, Wellness, Business Management or a related discipline is preferred. Minimum 5–7 years of spa or wellness experience, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel, resort or premium spa environment. Proven experience managing a full-service luxury spa operation, with strong knowledge of treatments, spa journeys, retail and wellness programming.
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, revenue, profitability, payroll and operational costs. Proven ability to drive treatment utilization, retail performance, upselling and overall spa revenue. Strong understanding of luxury spa service standards, guest experience and current wellness trends. Exceptional leadership skills with experience recruiting, training, coaching and developing a diverse team of therapists, receptionists and spa professionals.
Strong knowledge of spa hygiene, health and safety, treatment protocols and operational compliance. Experience developing treatment menus, packages, promotions, partnerships and seasonal wellness programming. Excellent guest relations and communication skills with a highly polished, intuitive and personalized approach to service. Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to balance commercial performance with exceptional guest experience.
