Position Overview

Under general supervision, the QAQC Electrical Engineer performs quality assurance and quality control duties to ensure all installed electrical systems, components, and fit-out work meet established specifications, design requirements, and applicable electrical codes.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Inspection & Testing: Independently perform walk-downs and inspections of electrical installations, including panels, distribution systems, wiring, fixtures, and integrated systems to assure conformance with specifications and design requirements Conduct electrical testing and verification including continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, load testing, and functional commissioning to confirm compliance with project specifications and industry standards Evaluate and apply standard electrical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to verify proper installation of fit-out electrical work and systems integration Display sound professional judgment on details of electrical work quality and construction standards Documentation & Reporting: Document non-conformances and prepare corrective action reports with recommendations for remediation of electrical deficiencies Maintain comprehensive quality records, inspection logs, test documentation, and electrical certification records for project archival and regulatory compliance Generate quality metrics reports and analyze trends to identify areas for continuous improvement in electrical installations and fit-out processes Prepare punch-list documentation and track resolution of electrical deficiencies through project completion Technical Leadership & Coordination: Provide technical direction to electricians, technicians, and installation teams regarding quality requirements and electrical standards Coordinate with project teams, electrical contractors, and stakeholders to communicate quality requirements and inspection findings Ensure adherence to applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle Support site safety initiatives and electrical safety protocols to maintain a compliant work environment

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in site supervision, quality assurance, and quality control on construction projects Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline Demonstrated expertise in conducting inspections, material testing, and verification of construction commodities against specifications Proficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and maintaining comprehensive quality records and inspection logs Strong knowledge of applicable construction codes, industry standards, and regulatory compliance requirements Excellent communication and coordination skills with ability to provide technical direction to team members and stakeholders Sound professional judgment and analytical skills for identifying non-conformances and recommending corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification QAQC or quality management certifications (ASQ, ISO 9001, or equivalent) Experience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies Proficiency in construction management software and data analysis tools Background in site safety protocols and OSHA compliance
