Event Designer

Our client is an international event agency creating memorable experiences for leading brands, governments and cultural institutions. We are looking for a talented Event Designer to join our creative team in Dubai.

You will turn concepts into buildable designs, from first sketch to final technical drawing. You will work closely with creative, production and client-servicing teams to deliver events, exhibitions, activations and brand experiences across the region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop creative event concepts and spatial designs aligned with client briefs, brand guidelines and budgets
• Produce hand and digital sketches to communicate ideas during pitches and early concept stages
• Create accurate 2D technical drawings, floor plans, elevations and layouts in AutoCAD
• Prepare production-ready drawings and specifications for suppliers, fabricators and venue teams
• Design stage sets, exhibition stands, activations, signage and décor elements
• Plan venue layouts covering guest flow, seating, staging, AV, lighting and safety requirements
• Work with production managers to make sure designs are feasible, compliant and delivered on budget
• Present design proposals to internal teams and clients, and refine them based on feedback
• Conduct site visits and venue surveys, and support on-site installation to keep execution true to design
• Stay current with design trends, materials and event technologies

Requirements

• Diploma or cetification in Interior Design, Architecture, Scenography, Industrial Design or a related field
• 3–5+ years of experience in event, exhibition or experiential design, ideally within an agency
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Strong sketching skills, both freehand and digital
• Working knowledge of 3D and visualization tools such as SketchUp, 3ds Max, Vectorworks, Cinema 4D or Blender (a strong plus)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Solid understanding of materials, fabrication methods, event production and venue constraints
• A portfolio showing both creative concepts and technical drawings
• Ability to manage several projects under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (Arabic or French is an advantage)
• Based in Dubai and willing to travel regularly across the GCC and internationally
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors
• Valid UAE driving license is preferred
