Terminal Customs Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Compliance Analyst to support our customs audit, reconciliation, and advisory engagements.
This is an Excel-intensive analytical role focused on reviewing customs transactions, managing large datasets, identifying discrepancies, and supporting customs compliance projects.
Key Responsibilities• Review and analyse customs declaration and transaction reports
- Perform inbound and outbound customs reconciliations
- Match customs declarations against invoices, packing lists, inventory records, ERP extracts, and logistics documents
- Identify missing, unmatched, duplicated, or incorrectly reported transactions
- Analyse HS codes, country of origin, quantities, weights, customs values, duties, and declaration types
- Identify potential customs duty exposures and compliance risks
- Organise, clean, consolidate, and validate large Excel files
- Prepare audit working papers, exception reports, reconciliation summaries, and client reports
- Coordinate with clients to obtain missing information and supporting documents
- Maintain accurate and properly documented audit files
- Support customs consultants in preparing findings, recommendations, and submissions
Candidate Requirements• 1–3 years of relevant experience in customs, logistics, freight forwarding, trade compliance, audit, or a data-intensive operational role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, PivotTables, data comparison, and handling large spreadsheets
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies across large volumes of transactions
- Good understanding of import, export, free-zone, and customs documentation processes
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and work within project deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
