Job Description Overview The HSEW (Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Your role Develop, implement, and maintain HSEW plans, procedures, and management systems for projects and operations. Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and environmental impact assessments.

Perform regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews to identify hazards and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with local regulations, client requirements, and international HSEW standards. Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental events, and prepare detailed reports with corrective actions. Monitor contractor and subcontractor adherence to HSEW requirements. Provide HSEW training, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.

Review and approve work method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work documentation. Monitor environmental controls, including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation initiatives. Support emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities. Analyze HSEW performance metrics and prepare periodic reports for management and clients. Promote employee wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.

Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure effective closure. Assist in obtaining and maintaining necessary HSE certifications and project compliance requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HSEW performance across projects. About you Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 12 years of HSE experience in Building projects.

Professional certifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, environmental regulations, and international best practices. Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits. Familiarity with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems).

Strong understanding of permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, and contractor management. Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HSE reporting software. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and fast-paced project environments. Knowledge of environmental sustainability and employee wellbeing programs is an advantage.

Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are preferred for projects within the GCC region.
