Senior Economic Modeling Analyst

JOB PURPOSE

Develop and update economic models that contribute to data analysis and the production of econometric outputs that support decision-making.

Functional Role

• Update economic models and tools and continuously develop them by adding new dimensions and indicators to forecast economic indicators for strategic and economic planning and decision-making.
• Oversee the thorough review, cleansing, and accurate compilation of economic data received from various stakeholders for use as inputs into economic models and indicators.
• Oversee data related to models and tools to the greatest extent possible in order to produce accurate forecasts.
• Oversee quantitative analysis based on economic data relating to Abu Dhabi obtained from relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare stress tests for assumptions developed by the Economic Research and Reports Section.
• Develop relevant indicators using data provided by external government entities (Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi).
• Participate in developing economic forecasts for specified dimensions using quantitative regression analysis and assumptions developed in coordination with the Economic Research Department and in line with prevailing general trends.
• Approve briefing reports that briefly present the quantitative methodology used.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

PREFERRED ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or equivalent.

• At least 3 years of practical experience in the field.
