Strategic Context Every building we make intelligent starts with accurate information about how it is built. High-detail BIM models, and MEP models in particular, are the foundation for digital twins, predictive maintenance and autonomous building operations. Janus Digital is now building its own AI BIM platform to create, check and enrich these models far faster than traditional workflows allow.

This role sits at the centre of that effort. You will deliver production-grade MEP and commercial BIM models using AI tooling to speed up every step, while giving the Chief Platform/Product Officer a practitioner's view of the AI-for-AEC market and the requirements our own platform must meet.

Position Overview We seek an experienced BIM Modeller specialising in MEP and commercial buildings, reporting directly to the Chief Platform/Product Officer. This hands-on role combines high-detail model delivery with structured market research into AI tooling and platforms, directly guiding the build of the Janus AI BIM platform.

Your time will split roughly 60% production BIM and 40% platform intelligence. You will model to LOD 350-400 under ISO 19650, measure the time AI and automation save against manual baselines, evaluate emerging AI tools on real project data, and translate real modelling workflows into product requirements, datasets and acceptance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce federated MEP models (HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection, electrical, ELV and low-current systems) for offices, retail, hospitality, mixed-use and data-centre projects
• Model to LOD 350-400, including fabrication-ready ductwork, pipework, containment, hangers and supports where required
• Build and maintain parametric Revit families, shared parameters and project templates aligned to Janus Digital standards
• Run clash detection in Navisworks and BIM Collaborate Pro across architectural, structural and MEP models
• Apply AI and automation across the modelling workflow: auto-routing, family generation, drawing and sheet automation, model checking and scan-to-BIM
• Write and maintain Dynamo and pyRevit/Python scripts, using AI coding assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to build them faster
• Map the AI-for-AEC landscape and run structured, hands-on evaluations of shortlisted tools on real Janus Digital project data
• Work closely with the Chief Platform/Product Officer to shape platform priorities from a practitioner's perspective
• Apply ISO 19650 information management: BEPs, MIDPs/TIDPs, naming conventions and CDE workflows

Experience

• 6+ years of BIM modelling, with at least 4 years focused on MEP in commercial projects
• Portfolio of coordinated LOD 350+ MEP models on at least 3 delivered commercial projects
• Proven delivery on ISO 19650 projects, including multi-disciplinary clash coordination
• Demonstrable use of scripting or AI tools to speed up modelling, with before-and-after evidence

Technical Expertise

• Expert in Autodesk Revit (MEP); proficient in AutoCAD
• Navisworks Manage, clash detection and BCF issue tracking
• Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 and BIM Collaborate Pro
• ISO 19650, BEP/MIDP/TIDP, Uniclass or OmniClass classification and IFC export
• Dynamo scripting and working knowledge of Python
• Daily use of LLM assistants for scripting, documentation and research

Preferred Qualifications

• pyRevit, Revit API (C#), Grasshopper / Rhino.Inside or Autodesk Platform Services (APS) APIs
• Hands-on experience with AI-for-AEC tools in generative design, auto-routing, drawing automation, AI model checking or scan-to-BIM
• Point cloud import and modelling to scan
• Fabrication parts (Revit Fabrication / MEP Fabrication) and data-centre or healthcare services experience
• Solibri, Revizto or BIMcollab; COBie, IDS and bSDD; Dubai Municipality BIM e-submission experience
• Prior work at a software, PropTech or construction-tech company, or on an internal digital tools team
