About the role

The Early Careers Advisor is responsible for the coordination, delivery, and continuous improvement of our early careers’ programmes for graduates and apprentices across the Workman Group. With a diverse range of early careers programmes, the role spans across our Property Management, Building Consultancy, Accounts and Central Services departments.

As a relationship management role, it is important that our early careers talent is effectively onboarded, supported, and developed, while maintaining strong relationships with training providers and internal stakeholders. The role also supports the business in making effective use of the Apprenticeship Levy and contributes to the delivery of high-quality, structured development experiences.

Program delivery and maintenance

  • Oversee the early careers programmes for the Workman Group and be the primary point of contact for all early careers cohorts.
  • Ensure effective onboarding of our new intake each year (normally September) and act as the main point of contact to coordinate offers, first-day arrangements and induction activities.
  • Respond to Early Careers training queries, escalating complex issues where necessary.
  • Track graduate and apprentice performance, escalating concerns to HR Business Partner’s where appropriate, and supporting development conversations.

Recruitment and Selection

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders involved in the recruitment process, including the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers.
  • Support the recruitment process and assist with the coordination and delivery of Assessment Centres. Partnering with hiring teams to run candidate assessments, evaluating performance against agreed competencies and role requirements
  • Help coordinate the logistics of a nationwide career fair roadshow, helping us promote our brand and early career opportunities to a wider network of students.

Internal and external relationship management

  • Schedule regular catch-ups with our early careers’ cohorts on a 1-2-1 basis to check progress and help with any issues.
  • Actively engage with the Early Careers Committee to gather information, feedback and share success stories.
  • Regularly engage with key stakeholders, including Partners in Charge and line managers across the business to ensure the early careers programme is aligned and feedback is captured so it can be acted upon.
  • Work with our third-party training providers and apprenticeship partners to effectively coordinate training sessions, mock interviews, course work and exam preparation for APC, ACCA or equivalent qualifications.
  • Liaise with UBE, RICS and other third parties to manage enrolments, resolve queries and ensure programme coordination is tracking against the agreed programme

Reporting, data and future planning

  • Ensure the master tracker for early careers is kept up to date and acts as an accurate record of where each person is tracking against their early careers programme and developing our reporting capability for early careers.
  • Support and development of our graduate and apprentice programmes to ensure they remain aligned with business needs, professional standards, and regulatory requirements, including reviewing opportunities for future programme expansion.

What we expect from you

  • Experience in a learning and development or early careers advisor role, with a passion for nurturing early careers talent
  • Experience of developing and maintaining early careers programmes.
  • Understanding of the Apprenticeship Levy and its application in a business context.
  • Proficiency in using learning platforms for administration and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with learners, stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate training provider performance
  • Ability to collect and analyse data to support decision-making and compliance.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to align programmes with business needs.
