Job Description

The Regional Medical Excellence Associate Director/Director will be dedicated to the Region Europe, and main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Contribute to the development of the Europe Region Medical strategies and tactics
  • Provide European Medical team with relevant insights, medical practice understanding, and stakeholder needs to develop and update the KOL engagement plan with high value scientific programs
  • Work with country teams to standardize and drive excellence in the planning and execution of medical activities. This can include Evidence Generation and Dissemination, Field Medical Training, Launch Planning, Scientific Activities Coordination
  • Consolidate dashboards, monitor KPIs and metrics, elaborate launch reports; provide actionable insights and recommendations to ensure launch readiness.
  • Support country Medical Director Identifying areas of improvement and efficiency, people development, skills and capability uplift.
  • Support the learning and development team in developing training programs, personal development plans, to meet key business objectives
  • Support the Region in setting up the regional tactical medical plan, scientific objectives and priorities
  • Actively participates in cross functional initiatives (e.g. commercial, medical and PACE, etc…) as the voice of the regional stakeholders needs.
  • Support the Region in due diligence activity & Global B&D programs in close collaboration with the head of Region and Global B&D cross functional team

Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor, pharmaceutical or biomedical degree or equivalent by experience
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the pharma industry, with a minimum of 4 years experience in an area relevant for this function (e.g. Medical Affairs), preferable in Rare Diseases environment.
  • Previous experience in Rare diseases and Nephrology appreciated, experience in cardiometabolic preferred.
  • Field leadership experience including including people management, training, and coaching
  • Strong leadership skills, ideally people management experience
  • Patient and customer-focused approach, proven credibility and integrity in a medical environment.
  • Strong business acumen and a track record of strategic, analytical thinking and effective execution.
  • Very strong communication and presentation skills with a relationship building capacity displaying the ability to listen and understand
  • Ability to establish collaborative strategic working partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate and moderate open solution-oriented discussions among key stakeholders
  • Intentional innovation and thought leader, able to develop and lead others towards a common vision.
  • This role is fully remote and can be located anywhere in Europe and requires travelling 30% of working time
