Job Description

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join a high-profile Defence programme supporting strategic decision-making through the development of data products, applications, and analytical capabilities within a secure environment.

Working within a multidisciplinary Agile team, you will help transform complex data into valuable insights, support the development of innovative digital solutions, and contribute across the data lifecycle. You will work closely with client stakeholders, engineers, architects, and business analysts to ensure data is effectively structured, analysed, and applied to support operational and strategic outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern data platforms and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, while contributing to a programme that delivers tangible value to Defence users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical products to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Elicit, understand, and translate business and user requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to define analytical approaches, measures, and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and technical teams to access, structure, and prepare data from multiple sources.
  • Support the development, testing, and validation of analytical models, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, traceability, and appropriate documentation across analytical outputs.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery activities including backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Promote good analytical practice, data literacy, and knowledge sharing across project teams.
  • Support the design and implementation of UX and UI across digital tooling.

Please note: This role may require regular attendance on client sites (typically 2-3 days per week) and travel to other locations when required.

Essential

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or related discipline.
  • Experience analysing and interpreting complex datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding data modelling, data structures, and data management principles.
  • Experience working within collaborative, multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Desirable

  • Experience with Palantir Foundry or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or automation initiatives.
  • Experience working within Defence, Government, National Security, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with Python, R, or a similar analytical/programming language.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and information management practices.

Security Requirements

  • Applicants must hold, or be eligible and willing to obtain, UK Security Clearance. Existing Security Clearance is highly desirable.

Why Apply?

  • Contribute to a nationally significant Defence programme.
  • Work on complex, challenging problems with real-world impact.
  • Build expertise in modern data platforms, analytics, and AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with industry-leading specialists across data, digital, and consulting disciplines.
  • Access outstanding development opportunities within a global professional services organisation.
