About the Role
Podshop is a growing podcast studio and production company based in Shoreditch, London. We work with businesses, brands and creators across podcast production, studio recording and end-to-end podcast services.
We're looking for a hands-on Marketing Manager to take ownership of Podshop's marketing and help turn our activity into measurable commercial growth.
This is not a role where you'll inherit a large marketing team or simply manage agencies. You'll be our sole internal marketing specialist, reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, with significant freedom to improve how we approach campaigns, CRM, reporting, website performance, SEO, email, content and lead generation.
We've built a strong brand and grown successfully, but there is a lot of opportunity ahead. We're improving our CRM and tracking, want much clearer reporting from lead source through to revenue, and want to do significantly more proactive inbound and outbound marketing.
You'll have support from specialist contractors across areas such as Google Ads, SEO, web development and content production, but you'll own the overall marketing plan and its commercial performance.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Own Podshop's marketing strategy and quarterly marketing plan, aligned to lead generation, sales pipeline and revenue goals.
- Plan, launch and optimise campaigns across paid search, paid social, email, CRM, organic content and partnerships.
- Own the marketing side of our CRM and build clear reporting across Leads, MQLs, SQLs, Opportunities, Won/Lost and Revenue.
- Produce useful monthly reporting that explains what is generating qualified demand, pipeline and revenue - and what we should do next.
- Own the ongoing marketing development of the Podshop website, including content, landing pages, user journeys, conversion, SEO and analytics.
- Keep testimonials, case studies, client logos and other social proof current and visible across the website.
- Develop a practical social and content plan, using internal and external production support where appropriate.
- Identify and implement new outbound and inbound campaigns that could generate additional revenue, including email, reactivation, nurture, social and partnership activity.
- Brief and manage specialist contractors across PPC, SEO, web and content while retaining ownership of objectives and results.
- Help develop the marketing strategy, processes, templates and reporting used within our end-to-end podcast service for clients, before ongoing delivery is handed to the Production team.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years' experience in a hands-on marketing role, ideally within B2B, creative, media, agency, SaaS or another growing SME.
- Experience taking campaigns from planning through execution, reporting and optimisation.
- Comfortable working with CRM and funnel data, and familiar with MQLs, SQLs, opportunities, pipeline and attribution.
- Good working knowledge of websites, SEO, analytics, email marketing, paid media and organic social. You do not need to be a senior specialist in every channel.
- Commercially minded: interested in lead quality, conversion and revenue, not just reach, clicks and engagement.
- Confident using data to make decisions and explain what should happen next.
- Comfortable managing freelancers, agencies and specialist contractors.
- Able to work independently, prioritise effectively and move between strategy and hands-on delivery.
- Strong written communication, attention to detail and project-management skills.
- Experience in podcasting or media is useful, but not essential.
What Success Looks Like
- We can clearly see where leads come from and how they progress from enquiry to MQL, SQL, opportunity and revenue.
- Marketing and Sales share a clear view of lead quality, conversion and commercial priorities.
- Existing campaigns are actively optimised rather than simply left running.
- New campaigns and growth experiments are launched consistently and measured properly.
- The website becomes a stronger acquisition and conversion tool, supported by effective SEO and up-to-date proof of our work.
- Monthly marketing reporting leads to clear decisions about what we should do more of, less of or differently.
