We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, technically minded Energy Assessor (Retrofit) to join our Sustainability and Delivery team in this brand-new role. You'll carry out EPCs, Retrofit Assessments and energy-efficiency surveys across our homes, helping us cut carbon emissions and reduce energy costs for residents.

We own and manage c.8,000 homes in the east of England, working closely with other agencies and stakeholders within our communities. We build on the good foundations we have in place in being a customer-centric organisation, investing in our existing homes - including our zero-carbon journey - as well as building new homes.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities...

  • Carrying out Domestic Energy Assessments and compiling EPCs for existing properties, in line with current legislation, industry standards and accreditation requirements
  • Accurately recording property information, supporting and completing stock condition surveys and producing EPCs using approved software
  • Identifying errors, anomalies or missing information in existing EPCs, and recommending corrections where needed
  • Maintaining accurate EPC records and making sure certificates are lodged correctly
  • Monitoring EPC performance across our housing stock and identifying properties that need further investigation or intervention, helping us meet current and future minimum energy efficiency requirements
  • Carrying out Retrofit Assessments in line with current retrofit standards and our organisational procedures, assessing properties' condition, construction, energy performance and suitability for retrofit
  • Gathering evidence through site inspections, photographs, measurements and existing property information

We are looking for someone who has...

  • A qualification as a Domestic Energy Assessor and a Retrofit Assessor
  • Experience undertaking property surveys, including working with insurance or structural works
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interrogate information and weigh up benefits and risks to make informed decisions for our homes
  • Experience working in partnership or as part of a team to deliver work to programme and within budget
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation to ensure compliance, such as Health & Safety at Work, Asbestos, CDM and HHSRS guidelines
  • A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle
