You might be thinking, “I don’t have waste management experience?” No problem, we offer in-house, on the job training and instruction on the various vehicles we operate in our fleet, so your experience as a driver will be utilised and your skills and knowledge base will increase.
We have been awarded the British Council 5 Star Safety Award in recognition of our safety standards which reflects the good working conditions we operate in as well as supply all required PPE. As with any job there are essentials requirements. For Biffa these are:
- Class 2 Driving License
- Previous skip/bulker experience desirable
- Flexibility and Good work ethic
- Digital Tachograph
- Driver CPC

Requirements
- A valid UK Category C (LGV Class 2) driving licence.
- A valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous LGV Class 2 driving experience.
- Previous skip or bulker driving experience is desirable but not essential.
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport legislation.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, following all company procedures and safe working practices.
- The ability to carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Good communication and customer service skills when dealing with customers and colleagues.
- The ability to work independently, manage your workload and follow a planned route.
- A flexible, reliable approach with good timekeeping.
- The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A willingness to undertake manual handling duties where required.
- A maximum of 6 penalty points on your driving licence, in line with company policy, with no current disqualifications.
