Countfire is seeking a full stack developer to join its small, close-knit team on a mission to build the world’s most loved construction software. In this role, you’ll take part in the entire development process, from shaping what gets built to implementing and releasing it, while working alongside fellow developers to share knowledge and maintain a high-quality codebase.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute across the full development lifecycle, from helping decide what to build through design, implementation and release.
- Build and maintain features on both the frontend and backend as a full stack developer.
- Develop and improve the company’s flagship construction software, including its image recognition capabilities for construction PDFs.
- Help build newer real-time collaborative features that keep users’ work in sync.
- Collaborate closely with fellow developers, sharing knowledge and learning from one another.
- Uphold a high-quality codebase through thoughtful design and attention to detail.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues by digging into the underlying systems to understand and resolve unexpected behaviour.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years proven development experience.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- A strong understanding of some of React, Typescript, Python, Terraform, AWS, Postgres.
- Command line / Linux experience.
- Experience working within smaller, independent companies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Our Tech Stack
TypeScript, MobX, Hasura, PostgreSQL, Python, Apollo, GraphQL, SQL, Flask, Redis, RQ, JavaScript, React, Vim, VSCode, HTML, CSS and AWS.
Our flagship product uses image recognition to identify elements in construction PDFs, built with Python (numpy), Postgres and React. For newer real-time collaborative features, Hasura gives us a GraphQL subscription layer over Postgres, which is transformed into MobX objects on the frontend.
