SAP BDC Data Architect

Job Description

We're looking for an innovative and detail-oriented SAP BDC Data Architect to join our team in Houston, United States. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize enterprise data architecture solutions using SAP Batch Data Communication (BDC) technology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data integration, migration, and management across complex systems while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and governance.

• Design and architect scalable, innovative data solutions using SAP BDC that align with business requirements and enterprise standards
• Develop and optimize BDC scripts and programs to automate data migration, validation, and integration processes with precision and efficiency
• Analyze complex business processes and translate them into well-organized data architecture models and comprehensive technical specifications
• Collaborate transparently with SAP consultants, business analysts, and IT teams to implement data solutions that drive organizational success
• Create and maintain detailed data architecture documentation, including data flow diagrams, entity-relationship models, and system integration maps
• Perform thorough data quality assessments and implement robust governance frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues with analytical rigor, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures
• Monitor system performance and optimize BDC processes to improve efficiency, reduce processing time, and enhance overall system reliability
• Stay current with SAP updates, industry best practices, and emerging data architecture technologies to maintain competitive advantage
• Provide supportive technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members on data architecture principles and SAP BDC implementation
• Ensure data security and privacy standards are maintained throughout all data architecture initiatives and implementations
• Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts to maximize system efficiency and user satisfaction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with SAP BDC development and data architecture design
• Advanced proficiency in SAP systems, including comprehensive module knowledge and system integration capabilities
• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and enterprise data warehousing solutions
• Demonstrated experience with SQL, relational database management systems, and data integration tools
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as ABAP or Python for automation and data processing
• Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and compliance requirements
• Proven experience leading or participating in large-scale data migration and system implementation projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
