AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Atlanta November 5th and 6th. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our Atlanta, GA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

As an Entry-Level Roadway Engineer, you will contribute to a variety of transportation projects while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers. You will apply engineering principles, assist with the development of roadway designs, and support project delivery from planning through construction. This position offers the opportunity to build technical expertise, gain project experience, and advance your professional development within a collaborative transportation team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of roadway projects in accordance with applicable engineering standards, guidelines, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and modify roadway plan sheets, including typical sections, alignments, profiles, layouts, and cross sections.
  • Utilize engineering design software, including CADD platforms, to support project development and design production.
  • Perform engineering calculations, quantity estimates, and technical analyses under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, specifications, cost estimates, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to support project objectives and schedules.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical discussions and project deliverables.
  • Support quality control efforts and ensure work is completed in accordance with established procedures and standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with roadway design principles and transportation engineering concepts.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire preferred.
  • Experience with CADD software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar design platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to transportation or roadway engineering.
