Über die Rolle
About Enervee
Enervee powers white-labeled energy efficiency marketplaces for major North American utilities, including SoCalGas, PGE, LADWP and BC Hydro. Our platform reaches roughly 40 million households across more than 40 product categories, helping customers choose efficient products and helping utilities hit their program goals. We act as merchant of record, and our peer-reviewed, patented Enervee Score is the backbone of how products are rated.
We are a small, experienced team, and we use AI across every part of the business, from engineering and operations to marketing and sales. That is how we do more with less, and every hire shapes the company.
Our culture
Enervee is fully established in the utility efficiency industry, with a strong reputation as an innovator and leader. The people who built that reputation have stayed: our leadership team averages ten years with the company.
What we share
- Mission first. Every one of us is deeply driven by making energy efficiency the easy choice for households and utilities.
- Kind. We treat each other, our partners and their customers with respect and generosity.
- Self-directed. We trust people to own their work and set their own course, without layers of management.
- Entrepreneurial. We think like owners, move quickly, and build what the market needs.
The role
You will own new business growth. Utilities spend billions each year on regulator-mandated efficiency programs, and most of that budget flows through large implementers and portfolio-level contracts. Your job is to get Enervee into those conversations, win them, and hand them off cleanly to our delivery team.
Why now: we are setting out to add double-digit millions in new revenue over the next five years through new utility accounts, implementer partnerships and performance-based programs. This role is central to getting there.
This is a senior, self-directed role. You will report to the CEO, work closely with our growth and policy lead on market intelligence and pricing, and partner with the delivery team from first conversation through contract. Because our complete solution is built and run in-house, technical fluency is central to this role: you need to understand how the platform works and what it can do, so you can shape proposals, scope and pricing that we can actually deliver.
To close deals, you need to know exactly how our solution maps to each utility's complex requirements.
You will not be doing it alone. Our growth and finance teams own the CRM, proposal development and contracting, so you can spend your time where it matters most: in front of utilities and partners, opening doors and closing deals. That said, we are looking for a self-starter who can take a pipeline of opportunities and build and drive the strategies that turn awareness into interest and action.
What you will do
- Win new utility accounts by engaging strategic decision makers and leaders who own a utility's full energy efficiency portfolio rather than a single program.
- Pursue implementer-led and performance-based opportunities, including RFPs where Enervee bids as part of a broader portfolio team alongside implementation partners.
- Shape proposals and pricing with the CEO, growth and finance teams, including performance-based structures with appropriate protection.
- Build relationships with implementers and partners who can extend our reach into large program bids.
- Be in the room. Travel regularly to meet utility leaders and partners in person, and represent Enervee at industry conferences and events.
- Hand off early and cleanly. Once a utility moves into contracting and scoping, bring the delivery team in as the owner of the relationship, so partners never face a surprise transition later.
- Feed the market back into the company: what utilities need, what competitors offer, and where the product should go.
- Bring technical credibility to every deal. Explain how the platform works, how it integrates with utility systems, and what it can be configured to do, and work directly with the product and technology team to scope new requirements.
- Build an AI-powered BD engine. Use AI agents and tools to identify opportunities, track RFPs and renewal cycles, research accounts, and draft proposals, so a lean team can cover a large market.
What success looks like in year one
- A qualified pipeline of portfolio-level opportunities with new utilities.
- At least one new utility contract signed.
- At least one implementer-led or performance-based bid submitted.
- Every new account handed to delivery at the scoping stage, with no gaps in the partner's experience.
Must have
- Enterprise sales experience with long, complex sales cycles, ideally in a regulated industry such as utilities or energy.
- You know how large organizations buy. You have navigated the politics, multiple stakeholders and layered decision-making of big institutions, and you can find and win over the people who actually decide.
- Solid technical SaaS understanding (required). Our entire stack is developed and managed in house. You understand how SaaS platforms are built, configured, integrated and hosted, you can speak confidently about data flows, APIs and system integration with utility IT teams, and you know what our platform can and cannot do without needing an engineer in every meeting.
- AI-forward in how you work. You already use AI tools in your daily work and are excited about how AI is reshaping go-to-market and business development: research, prospecting, proposals, and account planning. You look for ways to do more with less.
- You connect quickly and without fear. You are comfortable walking into a room of senior utility leaders and building trust fast.
Nice to have
- A solutions engineering or solutions consulting background, especially if you have since moved into business development.
- Relationships with utility efficiency leaders, implementers or state energy commissions.
- Experience with performance-based or pay-for-results contracts.
- Experience selling SaaS or platform solutions to utilities or government.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. We care more about what you have done than where you studied.
