Job Description

The Waste Processing Supervisor is a key position in overseeing the details of every order and ensuring they are executed through effective communications within the team and outside teams, departments, customers, transporters, etc.

  • Maintain operational documentation including but not limited to reports, licenses, procedures, DOT requirements, and order requirements.
  • Supervise team of technicians and oversee large projects and orders from receipt to settlement.
  • Communicate with other sites to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and supplies.
  • Manage scheduled pickups and deliveries, including maintaining communication with customer service
  • team to resolve issues or clarify requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements.
  • Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties, and changes in operations.
  • Supervise segregation and packaging material for transport along with the completion of required paperwork in a legible, accurate, and timely manner in accordance with appropriate regulations and
  • Customer/Clean Earth policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide training and coaching to technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes, and necessary paperwork.
  • Operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment when properly trained to move materials for storage/loading and off-loading.
  • Promptly report any incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management.
  • Adhere to and abide by Clean Earth safety and security policies and procedures (e.g.Cardinal Rules, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), etc.)
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsibilities may vary based on site level and/or location.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on

occasion.

  • Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled

environments.

  • Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.
  • Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.
  • Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not

limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

  • Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s degree in Chemistry or Environmental Science-related field preferred
  • BA or BS degree preferred

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
  • 1+ years of experience managing a team
  • 2+ years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste preferred

Skills

  • Forklift certified with possession of safe driving record preferred
  • Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPA, and state waste regulations
  • Ability to operate manual equipment such as a pallet jack to load and unload trucks
  • Ability to use a computer for web-based training and inventory tracking purposes
  • Ability to understand and respond to written and verbal English
  • Ability to deal politely with customers and team members
  • Ability to lead an hourly team
