About the role
About Radia
Radia is a dual use aerospace company developing WindRunner™, the world’s largest cargo aircraft. WindRunner is designed to enable direct transport of oversized cargo across defense, energy, commercial, aerospace, and humanitarian missions without reliance on specialized infrastructure. Radia is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado and Rome, Italy, with a growing global partner and supplier network.
Avionics System and Role Overview
Radia is seeking an experienced avionics systems engineer to lead the development, integration, and certification of the aircraft Central Computing & Warning, and Data Concentration Network (DCN) systems. The engineer will serve as a technical and model-based integration focal for aircraft functions, data, control logic, warnings, and system interactions allocated to the central computing and network architecture.
The engineer will develop and maintain the applicable portions of the WindRunner system model using Radia’s digital-engineering toolchain, including Zuken GENESYS and Jama Connect. The role will work closely with Radia engineering teams, aircraft-system work packages, Tier 1 suppliers, and sub-tier suppliers.

- Define and maintain system functions, requirements, architectures, interfaces, and technical baselines in accordance with industry development assurance practices.
- Perform technical analyses, trade studies, and design evaluations for system development.
- Ensure system designs satisfy allocated aircraft, safety, security, operational, and certification requirements.
Digital Engineering and MBSE
- Develop & maintain the Central Computing and DCN system models using Radia's digital-engineering toolchain.
- Apply MBSE methods to define functions, behaviors, architectures, interfaces, and verification relationships.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, architectures, interfaces, supplier data, and verification evidence.
Verification, Certification & Compliance
- Develop validation, verification, and certification artifacts supporting regulatory and industry compliance.
- Support safety, cybersecurity, reliability, and maintainability activities.
- Support system integration laboratory, ground-test, flight-test, and certification activities.
Supplier & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Define, review, and manage technical and digital engineering deliverables.

- 10 or more years of experience developing or integrating complex aircraft systems, including at least 5 years of central computing, crew alerting or warning, data concentration, avionics networks, or related systems.
- Experience developing aircraft system requirements, functional architectures, interfaces, verification activities, and certification data on a Part 25 aircraft.
- Knowledge of SAE ARP4754B, SAE ARP4761A, DO-178C, DO-254, and FAA Part 25 certification processes.
- Experience applying MBSE methods to architecture development, functional allocation, interface definition, traceability, design reviews, or change-impact analysis.
- Strong analytical, technical communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Zuken GENESYS, Jama Connect, or comparable MBSE and requirements management tools.
- Experience with aircraft computing, data networks, data buses, input/output, signal definitions, or interface-control data.
- Experience with behavioral modeling, system simulation, or integration of MBSE models.
- Experience with system integration laboratories, hardware-in-the-loop testing, aircraft ground or flight testing.
- Experience defining digital engineering deliverables, model-exchange requirements, or technical data requirements for suppliers.
