About the Position
Mi Familia & Summit Home Health and Hospice is seeking a dependable, organized, and service-oriented Healthcare Administrative Assistant to support the daily administrative operations of the organization. This role is responsible for providing reliable administrative support while helping maintain accurate records, coordinate information, and ensure that routine office and patient-support activities are handled efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional healthcare environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with confidential information, communicating with patients and staff, and learning the systems and processes used to support healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to the healthcare and administrative teams.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical records in accordance with company procedures.
- Assist with patient-related documentation, forms, correspondence, and other administrative records.
- Support scheduling and coordination of appointments, meetings, and other activities as assigned.
- Respond professionally to routine telephone calls, emails, and administrative inquiries.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with patients, families, healthcare professionals, referral sources, and internal staff.
- Assist with administrative aspects of patient intake and referral coordination when needed.
- Enter, update, and maintain information accurately in company systems and databases.
- Review documents for completeness and follow up on outstanding administrative information when appropriate.
- Prepare routine correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other administrative materials.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining office files and documentation.
- Support communication and information flow between administrative and operational departments.
- Handle confidential information responsibly and follow applicable company privacy and security procedures.
- Assist with general office activities and other administrative assignments as directed by management.
- Contribute to a professional, respectful, and patient-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical office administration, customer service, or a related administrative role is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with standard office software, email, and computer-based administrative systems.
- Ability to learn and effectively use electronic health records and other healthcare-related systems.

Required Qualifications

- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with common healthcare terminology and administrative workflows.
- Previous experience working with confidential patient or healthcare information.
