SR. BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER (STARLINK GROWTH0

Starlink is a revolutionary satellite constellation, delivering low-latency broadband internet around the world – bringing an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. The North America Business Development team is seeking a Sr. Business Operations Manager to serve as a pivotal partner in defining and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategy across both third-party and direct starlink.com selling channels.

This role owns the operational backbone of North American Business Development initiatives while driving foundational GTM strategy work that shapes the team’s long-term direction. In addition, the role owns day-to-day channel growth for starlink.com in North America and works cross-functionally to maximize Starlink fulfilments and subscribers. It is vital that Starlink deals, partnerships, and direct-to-consumer efforts be optimized for speed, scale, and balanced growth.

This role requires deep program management and business operations expertise, comfort working with both people and data, and fluency in financial analysis, reporting, pricing, promotions, and the day-to-day mechanics that make Starlink business development and direct channel initiatives run.

The ideal candidate combines strong program management, business operations, and chief-of-staff capabilities with strategic rigor, GTM expertise, and long-term vision. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and drive GTM strategy for North America across both third-party channels and Starlink.com, ensuring alignment on prioritization, resource allocation, and growth objectives
  • Own day-to-day channel growth for starlink.com in North America, including performance tracking, conversion optimization, and cross-functional coordination to maximize the business
  • Provide strategic insight across the North America Business Development team to minimize cannibalization and maximize balanced growth between third-party and starlink.com
  • Assist with pricing strategy and promotions development for both Starlink.com and third-party channels, partnering with finance, marketing, and commercial teams to design and evaluate programs that drive incremental growth
  • Own the operationalization of existing and upcoming business development and GTM initiatives, driving program management, deal pipeline tracking, cross-functional coordination, and execution discipline so initiatives move with speed and scale
  • Create data visualization and present analysis on leading and lagging indicators, along with clear recommendations and optimization planning to leadership stakeholders
  • Conduct new vertical, competitor, and market research, develop big-bet hypotheses, and perform structured assessments of broad business intelligence, target partners, channels, and direct GTM opportunities to inform team prioritization and resource allocation
  • Report on progress of strategy, operations, and GTM initiatives, presenting insights, risks, and recommendations directly to Starlink leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in business operations, program management, strategy, GTM and ecommerce, consulting, investment banking, or related roles involving complex initiatives
  • 4+ years of experience driving execution of revenue or growth-oriented programs, including tracking, reporting, and operationalizing commercial or direct-to-consumer initiatives

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven background in program management, business operations, GTM strategy, or chief-of-staff roles supporting high-growth or commercial teams in technology, telecommunications, utilities, or subscription-based services
  • Experience owning or supporting direct-to-consumer (e.g., e-commerce) channel growth alongside third-party or partner channels, with demonstrated ability to balance growth and minimize cannibalization
  • Experience in management consulting or investment banking, with demonstrated ability to structure problems, build rigorous analyses, and drive recommendations to action
  • Familiarity with business development, partnerships, pricing strategy, or promotions in consumer technology, telecommunications, or adjacent sectors
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data fluency; comfort with accounting concepts, KPI design, pricing analysis, and building clear reporting for leadership
  • Demonstrated success operationalizing complex commercial, product, or direct-channel initiatives and driving them from concept through execution and scale
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; able to work effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • MBA or master’s degree with a business or technical focus preferred

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations as required

Level 3: $135,000.00 - $205,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law.

Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
