Broad Function and Purpose of Position

Mechanic will be required to work with a team for the purposes of maintaining production equipment and keeping production equipment running. Position also requires mechanic to perform troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities, as well as any other maintenance tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manual and semiautomatic systems that process chemical substances into industrial or consumer products, such as sealants, adhesives, primers, and intermediates.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mixing and packaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any malfunction of mixing or packaging equipment.
  • Review and read electric drawings as needed.
  • Assist production efforts when required.
  • Performs other duties of a similar or related level and assists with special projects as necessary or assigned.
  • Responsible for conformance with all safety rules to maintain plant safety.

Education

  • High School Degree
  • 3+ years of experience industrial mechanical experience in a production environment
  • Prior forklift certification a plus
  • Familiarity with environmental, health & safety regulations
  • Must possess good mechanical aptitude and be able to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic cylinders and controls
  • Electrical, plumbing/pipefitting, fabrication and welding experience is preferred
  • Ability to team with production management to achieve common goals
  • Excellent organizational capabilities with good record keeping skills
  • Basic knowledge of Windows Application Software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to set up, carry, and lower ladders; climb staircases and ladders
  • Lifting of up to 74 pounds
  • Ability to crouch and kneel on job site as required
