About the role

In this role as an Employee Relations Business Partner, you will offer expert guidance and support on employee relations matters, driving Zoox’s People & Culture strategy to cultivate a workplace built on high engagement and trust.

You will leverage your experience in resolving employment issues and ADA accommodation requests, balancing employee fairness with risk management and core business priorities. You will also leverage workforce analytics to continuously optimize employee processes, identify emerging trends, implement preventative solutions to reduce workplace issues, and support targeted training programs.

Please note, this role requires an onsite capacity of 3 days per week in our Foster City, CA office.

In this role, you will...

  • Conduct ER Investigations into statutory complaints.
  • Manage Reasonable Accommodation process, working with employees, management, and PEx (HR).
  • Build collaborative, impactful partnerships with cross-functional teams, PEx partners, and managers across all organizational levels.
  • Manage day-to-day requests for ER support from PEx and Zoox partners.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Help create and deliver HR policy training.
  • Assist with documentation, including maintaining complete and accurate records

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in employee relations, employment law, or HR compliance
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and standard corporate employment policies.
  • Knowledge of ADA accommodation laws and best practices with experience in managing complex requests.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze situations, identify root causes, and develop creative solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (bonus if Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, or a related field)

Qualifications

  • Broader HR practice knowledge (engagement, performance cycle, performance management, compensation/benefits).
  • Subject matter expertise in FMLA/protected leaves of absence.
  • Experience in the AV, transportation, or manufacturing industry.
