Role DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Analyst / Inventory Control Specialist to oversee inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and support efficient supply chain operations. This role is responsible for monitoring inventory movement, maintaining accurate inventory records, analyzing stock performance, and implementing inventory control strategies that improve operational efficiency while minimizing costs and ensuring product availability.
The successful candidate will monitor inventory transactions, perform stock reconciliations, investigate inventory discrepancies, and ensure inventory records remain accurate across warehouses, distribution centers, and inventory management systems. You will maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing demand patterns, replenishment cycles, lead times, and stock availability to support uninterrupted business operations.
The role involves conducting inventory analysis, cycle counts, physical stock audits, and reconciliation activities to verify inventory accuracy and identify root causes of discrepancies. You will collaborate with warehouse, procurement, logistics, manufacturing, finance, and operations teams to resolve inventory issues and improve inventory management processes.
You will analyze inventory performance indicators including stock turnover, inventory aging, carrying costs, stock availability, order fulfillment rates, and demand variability. Responsibilities include preparing inventory reports, forecasting inventory requirements, monitoring slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and recommending actions that improve inventory utilization and reduce excess stock.
The position requires maintaining inventory master data, supporting ERP and warehouse management systems, monitoring inbound and outbound inventory transactions, and ensuring inventory records comply with company policies and operational standards. You will identify opportunities for process improvements, implement inventory optimization initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance warehouse efficiency and inventory visibility.
You will work closely with supply chain planners, purchasing teams, logistics providers, and production departments to coordinate inventory replenishment, optimize safety stock levels, and improve overall inventory performance. The role also includes supporting demand planning, order planning, capacity planning, and supply chain reporting through data-driven analysis and operational insights.
You will ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, internal audit requirements, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting business continuity. Continuous monitoring of inventory trends, process automation opportunities, and emerging supply chain technologies is encouraged to strengthen inventory management capabilities and support long-term operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, and supply chain management principles.
- Knowledge of inventory planning, stock replenishment, inventory optimization, and demand forecasting methodologies.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management software, and supply chain technologies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools for inventory reporting and performance monitoring.
- Understanding of inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, physical stock verification, and inventory auditing processes.
- Knowledge of inventory KPIs including inventory turnover, stock accuracy, fill rate, carrying cost, and inventory aging analysis.
