About the Role Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform, is seeking an experienced Lead Backend Software Engineer to join their innovative tech team in Riffa, Southern, BH. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable and high-performance backend services and APIs. Optimize application performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and ensure system reliability and scalability.
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features. Implement robust security measures and data protection strategies. Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and promote best practices within the engineering team. Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential adoption.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in backend software development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity. Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or Go. Strong experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and ORM frameworks. Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Solid understanding of software development best practices, including CI/CD, testing methodologies, and version control (Git). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
