Position Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Accounting function across all Greek Group entities, overseeing AP, AR, Fixed Assets and General Accounting.
- Manage, coach and develop the Accounting team, ensuring clear ownership, high performance and effective collaboration.
- Own the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals and provisions.
- Oversee all tax and regulatory compliance, including VAT, VIES, Intrastat, withholding taxes, corporate income tax requirements and MyDATA.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliations across customers, suppliers, inventories, revenue, expenses, fixed assets, loans, leases and IFRS 16.
- Participate in the Group consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations and accounting oversight of international subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting standards and statutory requirements across all jurisdictions.
- Lead the Accounting function's involvement in statutory and tax audits, working closely with auditors and external advisors.
- Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls, ERP workflows and automated processes to support the Group's growth.
- Partner closely with FP&A, Treasury and Business Operations on reporting requirements, new initiatives and complex accounting matters.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or another relevant field.
- 7–10 years of relevant Accounting experience, with strong hands-on technical accounting knowledge.
- Proven experience leading and developing Accounting teams and managing an end-to-end Accounting function.
- Strong knowledge of Greek accounting and tax requirements, including VAT, MyDATA and statutory compliance.
- Holder of a Class A Accountant-Tax Consultant professional license with the corresponding signing authority in Greece.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, with experience in IFRS 16 and financial statement consolidation.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities and/or international subsidiaries.
- Previous experience in Big 4, a multinational, fintech or fast-growing scale-up is considered a strong plus.
- Experience with financial and tax audits, internal controls and accounting process improvement.
- Strong Excel, ERP and data analysis skills, with the ability to work effectively with large and complex datasets.
- Excellent organizational, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a hands-on mindset and fluency in Greek and English.
