Project Accountant

The company delivers project engineering support, installation, management, facility commissioning, operations, and maintenance for complex industrial projects.

MARK’s experienced personnel play a key role in field services, project management, and facility operations and maintenance for BOOM projects, including sour production facilities for Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Project Accountant role based in Ahmadi, Kuwait. The Project Accountant will oversee project-related financial activities, including recording project costs, preparing invoices, and monitoring budgets against actual expenditures. The role involves tracking project progress from a financial perspective, preparing regular financial reports for project managers and senior leadership, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.

The Project Accountant will collaborate closely with project teams and operations staff to validate data, manage purchase orders, support audits, and assist in forecasting cash flow for ongoing and upcoming projects. The position also includes maintaining accurate documentation, reconciling accounts, and identifying variances or risks that may affect project profitability and timelines.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong financial and accounting skills, including project cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, financial models, and data analysis tools.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and compliance practices relevant to project-based environments.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
• Experience as a project accountant or in a similar role within the Oil and Gas, engineering, or construction sector is highly beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in Ahmadi, Kuwait, and familiarity with regional business practices and regulations is an added benefit.
