Responsibilities

• Review and approve material submittals, technical datasheets, specifications, and compliance documents.
• Ensure materials comply with project specifications, approved standards, and relevant codes.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams regarding material requirements.
• Review material samples, test certificates, manufacturer documentation, and inspection reports.
• Monitor material testing and ensure that required laboratory and field tests are carried out in accordance with project requirements.
• Verify the quality and suitability of materials delivered to site.
• Conduct inspections of materials and storage facilities to ensure proper handling and preservation.
• Review and evaluate material substitutions and proposed alternatives.
• Maintain records of material approvals, inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports.
• Identify material-related quality issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with project Quality Management Systems and relevant HSE requirements.
• Participate in technical meetings and provide guidance on material-related issues.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure timely availability of approved materials.
• Monitor suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and inspectors.
• Prepare material-related reports and provide regular updates to project management.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Typically 12+ years of relevant experience in material engineering, inspection, testing, and quality control.
• Experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, building, airport, or similar projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, including concrete, cement, aggregates, steel, asphalt, waterproofing, and finishing materials
• Experience in reviewing material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and test reports.
